Overview
The ORiNOCO AP-2000 Access Point is an enterprise-class, full-featured
wireless bridge that extends the range of wired Ethernet networks. Its
unique dual-mode architecture brings unsurpassed flexibility and
investment protection to your network by enabling mixed frequency and
mixed throughput networks that accommodate a mixture of client devices
for various applications.
The AP-2000 family offers upgrade kits to 802.11a/5GHz and to 802.11g in
the 2.4 GHz band for easy migration to 5 GHz and to the new 802.11g
standard. The AP-2000b/g ships with the 802.11g radio included. The
AP-2000 Access Point is part of the ORiNOCO family of secure wireless
infrastructure and client products.
Investing in the AP-2000 is an investment for the long term: you can
easily migrate from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz using the AP-2000 5GHz Kit. Your
investment is further protected with the addition of the AP-2000 11b/g
Kit, which provides an intuitive migration to the new, higher data rate
radio standard. Using both Kits makes the AP-2000 a tri-mode access
point supporting 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11a compliant clients.
